In Loving Memory




ROY - Rosalie Archibald Norman Checketts, 71, passed away August 12, 2010, after a 12 year courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and all their prayers.
She was born October 19, 1938 in Paradise, Utah to Earl Obray Norman and Cherrol Archibald.
She was educated in Brigham City, Utah and graduated from Box Elder High School.
On February 17, 1956, she married Robert F. Checketts in Brigham City, Utah. Rosalie and Bob were married for 47 years prior to his death in 2003.
She lived in Harperward, Brigham City, and Roy, Utah.
Rosalie retired from the IRS in 1999 after 32 years of service.
Her and Bob enjoyed playing golf with the family. Her creative talents ranged from painting, stained-glass, gardening, sewing and ceramics. Rosalie loved to travel with her family. She loved her cats and they brought here great comfort for the last several years.
She loved her family and enjoyed being around them. She was an excellent teacher and encouraged others to not be afraid of trying something new.
Rosalie is survived by her three children, Robert (Pamela) Checketts, Debra (Randy) Staley, Kelly (Terri) Checketts, 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 5 siblings, Evan Norman, Robert Norman, Amy Markos, Julie Bachman, and Mike Burnham.
Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert , her parents, and a sister, Patricia.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 16, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at Myers Mortuary from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Monday August 16, 2010 from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
Interment in the Roy City Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sandra Buys, Dr. Janet Bloch and the Huntsman Cancer Institute for their efforts in treating Rosalie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Donations may be mailed to 500 Huntsman Way, Salt Lake City, Utah , 84018 or at www.huntsmancancerfoundation.org
